once there was a bicycle crash..

oh yeah bytheway that happened this morning. I had forgotten my lunch at home so i called matt to see if he could bring it when he heads to work. after we talked a little he casually mentions that he fell off his bike and tumbled a little bit. he asked if i could buy some gauze, tape and antiseptic spray. this is when i started to freak out! i went to drop off his ouch packet  i saw the damage and oh my gosh it looks like he needs a skin graph on his palm.
and it doesnt just end at these scratches...he has another scratch on his other elbow, his knee and a huge charley horse on his thigh! my poor husband. i came home at lunch to find his handle bars facing the wrong way as well as part of the seat torn through the foam part too. it was so sad. after i helped him patch it up im not gonna lie i was still shaking it looked so bad and i hate seeing him in pain. seriously it just makes your whole body kind of twitch cuz you can simpithize with the pain. but now that he is all wrapped up he kinda looks like a burn victim/leaper with bandages everywhere. poor husband!

but we did get to end the day on a good note. a friend had asked if i could sub in on their city softball league. I havent played for a while and it was so good to get some exercise and do something that i love to do. matt did come to watch both games with his bandages! haha sorry to laugh but im finally relaxing about his wounds. I was so scared to hear he had fallen and tumbled and to see it almost reasured my fears. he wasnt wearing a helmet but didnt damage anything to his head...i mean its not noticeable yet if he does. but he is a stud and tough. anyone else would have been bawling their head off. but he is safe and no serious damage done! hopefully they heal quick! i just have to convince him to constantly wear a bandage!

Morning Suprise

Okay sorry ladies but my husband is the ultimate best! he woke up early and made breakfast for me! waffles and a strawberry banana shake! he was going to bring it to me in bed...sadly im a light sleeper and i thought he was just awake and alone because he was just woken up by a pointless and stupid phone call. but he was going to bring me breakfast in bed!! when i asked him what he was doing before i got to the kitchen he came to me really fast in the hall with a huge smile and tried to block my view. It was a great breakfast of waffles with fresh strawberries and whipped cream with a strawberry smoothie on the side!! yummmm and to polish off a great morning we spent the day with nana and papa in ogden! they made us the best dinner we have had in a long time! steak, mashed potatoes, corn, bread and a side salad! yummmmmmmm diddly yummmmmmmmm! it was great to see them especially since they will be her for the summer we can see them more often!

Great Day!

The New Diggs!

So our landlords daughter had been driving us crazy because we would fall asleep around 10:30-11 and the house would be so quiet then all of a sudden at 1:30am someone would be pacing back and forth from the living room (which was right above our bedroom) to down the hall and then some nights there would be stomping/marching. I'm pretty sure she was plaing wii-fit and walking a mile or doing step aerobics because it was so rythmic! We couldn't take it anymore, we hadn't slept soundly since January so we luckily had a back up plan with matts family. His grandparents had passed away and we were able to move into their house for better rent, more room, and an unbelievable view with the temple in our front yard.
We got out of there the next night and slowly moved with amazing help from Clint and kims friend Dustin. Now I'm just praying we don't have to move again for a long time! We have been there for about a week now and we have slept so soundly and I love waking up to Marty downstairs singing. Oh and we planted our first garden (that hopefully produces) in the backyard. We planted peas, carrots, cucumber, spinach, cantelope, and watermelon! We didn't get to the sunflowers but those will be planted shortly! I love where we live! it has been so peaceful and we love our ward and area so much already.

as for hair school we had a big hair show type runway thing last week that im am so grateful is over. the school was divided up into groups of 12 girls and then we all had about 8 models and had to find music for our segment, dancers, costumes, choreography and hair pieces/styles. and to be completely honest it would have been fun to look back on but our instructor kind of made is miserable because of how stressed she would get which made us stressed. before this all started people would say it will get frustrating and you will get mad at friends but once it is over you will have realized how fun it really was....all i have to say is...FALSE! when it was all over i was jumping for joy because we didnt have to do it anymore or deal with stupid people! but it was an experience because now i know what level of stress i can handle and create choreography within a day with the help of ashley! she is an friend at hair school that dances as well and we actually had to perform last minute because plans made by others didnt work out...suprise?! but here are some pictures...oh ps our segment was pocohontas....the theme of the whole show was "fairy tales" with other segments like avatar, toy story, pirates of the carribean and disney shows. everything turned out pretty sweet but again im relieved it over! haha. more actual camera (not phone) pictures to come!
on the left are some of our models..."grandma willow," "feathers" and "pocohontas"... then me and ashley on the right as the dancers. we also had models dressed as Kokoum, John smith, the chief, and the river. we had to improv with characters because we didnt want to use all people but surroundings! haha

Happy Moms day!

so today is mothers day and i have to be completely honest...I LOVE MY MOMMY! she has been my role model in life and i owe who i am to her! i know i dont always show how grateful i am for her but no one is perfect right? i do love her will all my heart and she will always be my mommy that is one thing that will never get old. Tami Beckman....i chelsea, love you more than anything and am so lucky to have you as my mother. i aspire to be as good as you. i hope i can teach my children the way you taught alex and i! i cant wait for you to be the nana of my children and spoil them even more rotten than you spoil your own kids. i always want you in my life and i wish i could be with you more often. Mom, I love you!

its been far too long...

I feel terrible for not posting anything in so long. especially since i know how many followers i have. its sad most of the people that follow our blog i end up talking to the next day anyways so this is nothing new! but maybe this will be great for a scrapbook of our lives. but to be honest a lot has happened since my mom has come up to visit. okay well maybe not a whole lot but we have been busy. Matt is doing great with his job at AMP and i am getting more and more experience at school. i got a really great compliment the other week. i was asked to help a friend with a perm for her cousins sister. so i had to do a perm on a 5 year old girl. my friend told me that she asked me because she didnt really trust anyone else...she does but really wanted to impress her family and asked me to help. i was honored really! to be trusted in a hair school of picky girls is pretty exciting! woo go me! but im not amazing and i know that but it was really comforting to get a compliment. Im still terrified of cutting mens hair but with matts and his brother-in-law clints help im gradually relaxing. As for matt at work he has been working is butt off and it really has been paying off. he stays later and works harder everyday. he has been great and has been getting many pats on the back for being so helpful. And the best part is he only has room to move up in the company! not like taking over the company but more recognition with everyone! i really am so proud of him and couldnt be happier to married to such a hard worker. so on top of us doing well at school and work our 1st year anniversary was on April 18th. so to celebrate we went to a muse concert about a week before. and it was AMAZING!! seriously amazing! we had both been to a muse concert before but this one was by far the best one EVER! and what perfect timing especially since it is our favorite music!
the stage was just amazing..3 buildings with each musician in the middle of them...and on top of the crazy lighting and crazyness the drum set in the middle rotated! so amazing! to make our anniversary even better we had to give a talk the day of our anniversary in sacrament and teach our primary class all combined which was such a blast!...(sarcasm) but the talks went well and now our ward knows of us. but after church we packed up a picnic lunch and blankets and headed up the canyon and ended in park city. we went to a park and ate on the hill till the sun went down. it was so relaxing and really enjoyed just taking it easy..like everything we do!

since our anniversary we got a visit from matts family as they all reunited for his grandmas funeral. I was more of a happy funeral...not because she was finally gone but because she was now able to have her full mind back and join her husband in that place that we all aspire to go eventually. Matts aunts and uncles when they are all together were hilarious and we really enjoyed seeing/meeting them all. the funeral was a classic movie funeral scene, it was overcast and rainy all day but everyone made the best of it and celebrated Thelma's life. I sadly only met matts grandma once and that was after she had been in an assisted living facility for a couple years already. Matt said he didnt really recognize her anymore and it was definitely the same for her. Her mind had wandered away and her body was withering away as well. We sat in her room for a while and didnt really get anything fom her but a glance. as we said goodbye we hugged and then matt wanted a picture. we looked at it all together and i joked to Thelma that she wasnt too happy to see up because we didnt get a smile from her. so we joked a little and then we got a big smile from her and she hugged us goodbye and walked us to the door. It was for sure a tender moment because we knew that going to be the last time we saw her. and it was a sweet goodbye and a good way to go. I know matt was really grateful also. She will never be forgotten. We love you Grandma Sharp!

after the funeral/family reunion...things slowed down a little until my mom announced that they were putting the Logan house on the market and that we should swap out our washer/dryer for their washer/dryer. and that was a trip were were grateful to make. they are beautiful pieces of machinery and cant thank my parents enough for all they do and give us! we are lucky! really lucky! okay really really really really...etc...lucky!

thats really all thats happened....coming up next...MOM'S DAY!!!

One Great Weekend with my MOM!!

(this is an older picture but i love it! we forgot to take pictures...im so mad)
So my mom drove up to Utah on Thursday to visit for like 2 days. that drive is about 11 hours and she did it all by herself! man i love my mom so much! so i got to see her right in the morning because she came to my school where i gave her a new color and cut! well it looks the same as before but the color wasn't out of a box!! haha! I had so much fun showing her off to my friends and instructors. they all loved her and my mom actually trusted me with doing her hair. then again she did say that "the difference between a good and bad haircut is only 2 weeks." but it turned out really good! not to boast or anything! haha! so after we spent time doing her hair the bonding continued while shopping at the mall, seagull books, the distribution store,  and costco!! oh man i enjoyed getting spoiled but i more enjoyed spending time with my mom. i miss seeing her all the time but the separation makes the reunion so much better. sadly she left on sunday morning. her trip was so short but so comforting! Matt, Mom and I went out to dinner and mmmmm it was so good! i loved just sitting and chatting. I really cant say how much i love her and appreciate how genuine and giving she is!

to get things cleared up...

so our class got things cleared up and turns out it was just one HUGE miss understanding. which was such a relief honestly. turns out that someone was between the "2 groups" and felt it was best to exaggerate about the other and some things were said that weren't true and got the drama rolling. so the "groups" had a huge talk and everything was one big misunderstanding and now we are all friends again. i really do love ALL the girls in my class and i am so glad to meet them and make new friends. i hate that we had to have so much drama and division before we could be friends but now we have learned from our mistakes and only have room to improve. So i also want to apologize for my last post because of the misunderstanding it doesnt really apply. here are some of the girls!!!...happy!

February 25, 2010

girls just grow up

i thought that being in hair school was going to be less drama because i was married...turns out thats where things go haywire and girls get their feeling hurt. well let me just tell you the reason feelings got hurt and "tattling" happened and now our friend is moved out of the class.... we decided to get together as couples one friday night to watch a movie at jenny's uncles clubhouse and because they werent invited and we barely talked about it during class (which i understand was a little rude...but please..) we are being punished and our class is divided even more. man i cant wait to spend the next year and 3 months with 12 year old girls. i feel it is so rediculous and the fact that we get in trouble for doing something outside of school. they are telling us that we have to all be friends...thats not what im paying for...im paying to be educated on HAIR, not be told i have to be friends with people i dont really get along with. i chose who my friends are not my school. and if people want to start bawling about that feel free but bawl by yourself and not to the director of our school. i have an idea....grow up! get me away from this drama

V-day came early for me!

Be my Valentine?!
Not only did Matt get me 18 red roses for V-day but he had them sent to my school as a super surprise! Our school actually had a bowling half day and when I got to the school to pick up my lunch someone mentioned that one of the "freshman" had flowers delivered to the front desk. Cassie and i couldn't help ourselves for seeing who it was for..because we were both convinced that it wasnt for either of us. After running to the other end of school they said that it was for ME! I was in total shock and showed it off to my friends!

Matt and i had some lunch together and ran home to put my BEAUTIFUL roses in a vase! now i finally have a use for the many awesome vases we got for our wedding in April!! i cant get over how beautiful the red roses are and how surprised i was to get them!

I really am so lucky and have the best life. I share the best life with the best husband! Seriously someone taught him well because he never lets me down and is always so sweet to me! I know how much he cares for me because he shows it in everything he does. By always telling me he loves me, by treating me with so much respect, and simply by the way he looks at me and then kisses me on the forehead! I couldn't ask for any better because i really do have the best!

I LOVE US...FOREVER!

Vampire mom

So at school today while i was introducing myself to the old freshman (now juniors) one interrupted me to tell me i look like the "vampire mom" AKA Esme Cullen from the twilight movies...i dont really think so but I'll take it!

January 29, 2010

wwhat a jjoke!

just a word to the wise if you bank with chase bank close it now! it is such a joke...i have been trying to dispute a charge since november that clearly should be refunded because it is a complete scam yet absolutely nothing has happened. also if you try to get a credit report from creditreport.com DONT DO IT! its such a scam. they charge you 15 bucks a month when they claim its free then proceed to sign you up with credit protection sites that charge you about 10 bucks a month without even telling you they are distributing your personal information. And i have been arguing this issue since november and chase constantly transferring me to other advisors until no one has a clue what i am talking about. They also tell me this happens all the time yet they dont do anything about it! This last time i talked to someone they kept asking me "did you even read the website" with such rudeness. OF COURSE I READ THE WEBSITE...DO I SOUND LIKE AN IDIOT TO YOU?????? i've had it so we are canceling. thats that! if wamu ever comes back maybe we will sign up again but as long as chase is around neither are we! sianara jerks!!

January 10, 2010

robinson crew huh?

so i didnt know what i was thinking when i named our blog site...matt and i are really only a single crew...no kids yet so there really isnt a team established yet. maybe i was just creating one for when we do actually have kids and can classify our family as a crew...oh well just thought it was a little strange of a blog site name when we are newlyweds without kids, let along kids on the way! haha food for thought!

MATT GOT THE JOB!!

Matt got a job offer today that we have been waiting for since a little bit before Christmas. But none the less we thought that if he was hired he wouldn't start until March...turns out they actually need him earlier. Like a week from this next Monday earlier! its so perfect..now we wont be all that poor anymore and making some mooonnnaayyyy!! haha..not that life is all about the money but you do need money to survive! Am I right?
Matt will be working for AMP which is an alarm monitoring company. He has worked as a technician for 3 years and know the owners and has made a ton of friends through the company. So being an accountant now will be a little different but so less dramatic and more relax.

Now that we know we are going to be in one place for a while (and a while i'm thinking like 2 years maybe more but kinda hoping not more) im going to cosmetology school. it sounds so ditsy but its true. Im really excited and cant wait to learn how to actually cut hair! (thanks kim for letting me try! you are such a good sport!) but i have been interested in hair styling for a while so its nice to really be able to do something about it!
So Matt and I are really getting into a routin and not moving every 4 months! i loved our crazy life and cant imagine that its about to stop though. SO yeahhhh for matt and working so hard and searching for jobs! he is a great husband...scratch that... he is the best husband out there!!
I LOVE YOU MATT!

just home for the holidays

man it has been such a great holiday! we arrived in Danville on Christmas eve eve just in time for some great cooking and family. On Christmas day we got to talk to alex (only for 40 minutes because he is on his mission in Virginia). He sounds so good and really is maturing so much. He has become so humbled and loves everyone in Virginia! I miss him so much and cant wait to see him again in a year and a half. Besides that christmas gift we opened our stocking to find tickets for cirque du soleil "Ovo". It has become a tradition in our family to go see the cirque in San Francisco after christmas. Last year mom suprised alex and I with the Ka show. This Ovo show revolves around and egg and a variety of bugs. This is me by the way.. i wish..
The costuming is just amazing. they are so talented and mind blowing with the contortionists, acrobats, spinning, twirling, tossing and balancing! Seriously they are the best of the best. And it was Matt's very first Cirque Du Soleil so it was exciting to see his reaction to the performers. But this was only one of our many events of christmas presents....

Dad also took Matt and I skiing in Tahoe so matt could use his new ski poles! Santa really knows what we want! we had so much fun. I hate to admit it though but my dad outlasted me... I was so worn out around noon. I wasnt some pansy but my dad loves those steeper slopes which = a lot more work which = me tired! haha but we had a perfect sunny powdery warm day! Thanks dad!!

so on top of snowboarding the girls got tickets to see Wicked in the city!! so the 3 generations spent the day in SF shopping before the show. This was my second time seeing it and yes it was just as great as the first time!

What can i say...I have the best parents in the world!! We had a wonderful christmas! and to save the best for last matt got me a little wooden jewelry with a big sunflower carved on the top. its so beautiful! I love it and will use it forever. Matt really is so thoughtful he knows how much i love jewelry and antiques...to combine those are absolutely amazing! i love it! thanks again so much matt!! I love you! Our first Christmas together has been so memerable and this holiday season is only getting better.

For New Years Jake is coming up from Southern California with his girlfriend/fiance (planning things out for now) and her 2 year old son! Im so excited and i hear nothing but good things of Sara. I cant wait to meet her and spend a couple days with them. After all the meet and greet we are off to Seattle for a couple months!

December 21, 2009

It's the most WONDERFUL time of the year!

Matt finally graduated from Brigham Young University- Idaho on December 18th in Accounting and couldnt be more relieved to have that over and done with! His family was there (beside Taiwan Adam) to support him. He looked so happy and ready for the next adventure. Right now he has been interview with multiple companies looking for an accounting position with no luck so far. The back up plan is to complete his masters sometime in the next year. We really are hoping for a job first because everyone wants to hire someone with experience but if that doesnt work out its not that big of a deal and he will complete a masters...that always looks better on a resume anyways! He really has been working hard and deserves a little break. So the current plan is Christmas at the Beckmans and then its up to Seattle for a couple months to relax and make some moolah! Then its grad school in the fall...unless a job sneaks up on us!

We have started our journey for christmas...man for newlyweds we roadtrip way too much and way too far! but we enjoy it and cant wait to spend time with our families! So right now we have all our things moved and on the road. Our first stop was Utah where we visited Temple Square to look at the Christmas lights..oh man they are amazing! seriously on every big tree it covers EVERY branch!

(oh...P.S I dyed my hair a burgundy brown! Im liking it!)

so after the lights we went to Matt's sisters house and then the next day Matt had yet another interview. He never gives up and I am so proud of him for working so hard. He really is an amazing husband! I know every wifey says that but I cant help from not saying it! if that even made sense...Anywho..later on our agenda we are spending time with Zach and Brytni Despain (one of Matt's best friends) and going snowboarding/skiing on tuesday! I would have just said snowboarding but Matt does ski and so i feel like i need to include that just for him! I know im strange! ...whatever...but we are so pumped, especially since we went once last year and so it feels like it has been about 2 years! OOOOOOHHH im so excited!! Plus I will be testing out my new board! woopDwoop!!

So after snowboarding we will head out Wednesday morning for Danville, CA for christmas and some amazing mama Beckman food! oh i cant wait! and I'm sure that lady has some suprises up her sleeve for us...thats what makes her great! Man...i love this holiday season!! so on top of being home with my family (mom, dad, nana, papa...and maybe even jake!) i get to see my friends!! they are always amazing for some good laughs! i miss those girls! cant wait!

Well...more to come later! hopefully i can get some good shots of my papa bowling on the Wii!!! he honestly has some amazing form!!

December 14, 2009

WE ARE FAMILY!
This is the whole Robinson Gang for Thanksgiving!! it was so much fun to all be together! Especially since Adam, Kay Lizzy and James flew from Taiwan! All the kids were so cute...a little on the sick side so there was a BIT of crying but it was so much fun anyways! even though the following picture doesn't look too happy we were just super ready to eat! haha

Here is baby James and mama Kay...such a happy kid! and did i mention a Taiwanese model??..?
Lizzy hadn't played in the snow before so we got to run around the backyard and toss snowballs at Matt when he wasn't looking..or after i run out of the line of fire!! Lizzy had a blast!! we hat all the kids running around and playing on the swings! it was so fun!
It was a great Robinson Thanksgiving 2009!!

December 2, 2009

I HAVE THE BEST HUSBAND HAND DOWN!

Our thanksgiving post will come a little later but i have to shout out to everyone how amazing my husband is! I was only able to spend 2 days with the family for thanksgiving because i had to be back for work. So i left Friday super early in the morning, missed my sister in-laws first time to the temple, didn't get to spend enough time with the family and spend a useless day at work for black friday... because no one want to buy cell phones on black friday, everyone wants clothes or toys for christmas presents. So last night when I came home from work matt had a surprise waiting for me on the bed! it was a huge rectangular box.. and when i opened it up there was a beautiful snowboard! it was Christmas way too early. I asked matt why he gave it to me so early and he said it was an impulse buy because he was proud of me for going into work and not calling in sick! He really is just so thoughtful! He is always doing things to make me happy and I can honestly say that i am at my happiest when i am with him! I LOVE YOU MATT ROBINSON! I cant wait to go boarding and skiing!! It really goes to show that snowboarders and skiers can get along..even get married!! haha

November 19, 2009

its become a habit to stalk blogs now..its almost getting as bad as facebook. but the worst part about this blog stalking habit is that I always look at mine and think i need to write another post but i never seem to have anything to say. Everyday is about the same because i work everyday all day and with my one day off I'm usually laying around the apartment, checking facebook and blogs every five seconds (even when there is no change, i convince myself that the next time i look something will have popped up in my news feed... and to my shocking surprise nothing happens) and maybe ill do a little cleaning because Matt's sister comes over and i don't want to look like a slob! Jenna is into racquetball and usually plays with Matt on saturdays. I started to play with some lessons (i get frustrated because i suck and i suck because i am frustrated most of the time!) but i still have fun non the less. But thats just about all the change that is going on! nothing new, nothing really exciting, just work dinner and sleeping. But i do have to say that with not much excitement with activities i still am the happiest i have ever been! thats all thanks to Matt!

I can promise you though... with the holidays coming up and us moving out of Rexburg we will have more fun and exciting stories to tell!! plus photographs! woop d woop.... Stay tuned!

Together Forever

Today marks our 6 months anniversary and we are still just loving life. Since we have been married we have gone through a lot already....i mean a lot for six months. From driving Coast to coast the week after we got married, job struggles, keeping our standards with temptations, the passing of a loved one, managing money, driving coast to coast yet again, moving , more job struggle, and currently working on graduation.

Everything that we go through we go through together and are always thinking of the other. We make such a great team I honestly couldnt have asked for anyone for suited for me. We really truly are a perfect match. We are always laughing and having fun. The picture posted above was just a couple weeks ago before i got my job. We went to Island Park for the weekend with another couple Paul and Karma. We stayed at their cabin and the next morning we went swimming in a freezing cold lake and then traveled to another lake just five minutes away and rented canoes for an hour or two. I was a beautiful day and we just relaxed. I can only imagine that my life with Matt will be nothing but laughs, adventure and excitement.

I do have to say how grateful i am to have such an amazing husband as Matt. He is the perfect husband and i couldnt have asked for better. He is such a great example and helps me to be better. He is my best friend and I am so lucky to have him. I love him so much and am so excited to see how our lives pan out together and growing old together. I love you Matt Robinson and i am so proud to say i am your wife for time and all eternity!

The One Who Fainted

Since we have been in rexburg I have been litterally hunting for a job. No one in rexburg was hiring so I decided to go to Idaho Falls which is a half hour away. I needed a job and that was that so I went to the mall and applied to barnes and nobles as well as American eagle. I even talked with the manager at American eagle and by the end of the week I had an interview. I also heard that as a greeter in a Verizon store they pay you $12 an hour for standing nd welcoming everyone to the store. So before we left Idaho falls I stopped in to ask if the position was availble...and truely the lord answers our prayers. I talked with the current greeter and she said she was leaving at the end of the week because she was getting married in a couple weeks. I then talked with the manager and about a week later I was starting my new job at Verizon Wireless as the store greeter. It is the perfect job. I don't have to sell or answer question but smile, welcome people to the store, get them signed in and then write down a description of what they are wearing. It's the most simple job ever and pays great for Idaho.
So here is the great and embarassing story ever told... I recieved a call Tuesday morning from the manager at verizon he told me all my background checks had been processed and they wanted me to start as soon as I could. So I told him I can start today and he said that's great! Be here at 11. That was only in an hour and I still needed to get showered and drive for a half hour. So i rushed as fast as I could. I arrived on time and ready. It was easy and interesting with the different people that come in. My lunch break wasn't until 3 and I was starving by 1. I forgot to ask for a ten minute break and decided I was fine and waited it out. Right around 3 I asked someone if I can go on lunch because I was getting really hungry. As he walked to the back to get the manager to take my spot another coworker came up and he asked how I was doing on my first day..all of a sudden my vision went crazy blurry and I was disoriented. Next thing I knew I was lying on the floor with a customer telling me I needed food, he sounded like a doctor. Behind him were about 6 customers looking over, others yelling call 911, get an ambulence and take her to the hospital. I didn't need any of those but food. I smacked my head and went crazy pale. I slowly stood up and walked to the back room and my coworker shoved half eaten bag of tortilla chips, day old popcorn and some saltine cackers. I was so embarrassed all I wanted to do was get out of there. Once I got back to work after lunch everyone kept asking how I was and if I was going to pass out again. I really only needed nutrients and get my color back. The next couple of days coworkers I hadn't met yet were asking about my fainting. Oh my gosh I was so embarassed and now known as the new fainting greeter. So embarassing and my worst work story ever. Now I make sure I eat some breakfast before I leave and take some breaks and lunch like I should have!! ...no more passing out!

The Road Well Traveled

okay, so i know it has been forever but here is the update on our long trip back home! The map shows how far we've been since april. It is astounding that in the first 5 months we have been married, we have driven over 8600 miles! and still love each other! This was truly meant to be. We've already blogged about a lot of the things that we've done, but here is a bunch of stuff between Maryland and Rexburg. There are a lot of more pictures if you click on the slideshow at the right -->
We had a ton of fun, and took our time with a stop in St. Louis and many gas stations with religious comments on the bathroom stalls. very interesting and kinda funny actually!

We left the ghetto east coast of Laurel, Maryland and started our journey from coast to coast back to Rexburg. We had "some" fun times this summer but were more excited to get back to the west coast where people wont give you the stink face and are friendly. We drove on the 70 back home and got to see some beautiful parts of the country!

First Stop:

Our first stop was in Terre Haute, Indiana. We only stayed the night but it was a super fun night. We decided to camp our way back because Matt had gotten an awesome tent for his birthday. We just stayed at a KOA but turns out we were the only one in a tent...everyone had trailers. Everyone was sitting outside their campers and just watching us as we set up our tent for the night. I wonder what they thought... "look at these youngins trying to set up a tent..so old school" "the cool thing now are campers, what are they thinking!" But we had an awesome relaxing night..we set up a fire and made smores!! they were so good..okay i could only handle one, but that one was so delicious!! the next morning we hit the road again.

Stop 1.5
We made a pit stop in St. Louis, Missouri to see the gateway arch. It was so cool! We walked around the park for a little while, took pictures and checked out the museum. We didn't go up because of the time constraint, and it was a little pricey. The Mississippi river is gross..

Of course we were goofing off.. Big chain holding a boat in place on the river

Side view of the arch

Stop Two:
We stopped the second night in Goodland Kansas right on the Colorado/Kansas border.. or Kanerado.. haha. Not much going on here except a bunch of wild sunflowers. I loved them.

Stop 2.5:
We traveled through Denver and ate some left over ribs from the night before somewhere west of Denver. They were still delicious the next day.

Pretty much the funniest graffiti I've ever seen

Back in the west:
We finally got back to Salt Lake and hung out with matt's family. His uncle Brent took us wakeboarding and we all tried out a little wake surfing. We got it down pretty well!

We also took a trip up to the Kennecott mine. I had never been there so it was a pretty cool!

After a few days in Utah it was back on the road to California! We stopped at the salt flats

My sassy pose.. Matt loves this picture..

(Matt has now taken over the blog)
We stopped in Lovelock NV to get gas. I don't really know why we took this picture.. but we'll always remember Lovelock because chelsea started feeling sick here and it kinda made her stay in CA less fun than it could've been.

CALIFORNIA!
We went in California to visit Chelsea's parents. It was a lot of fun and relaxing a relaxing 5 days near the end of our cross country tour. Most of the time we just hung out at home and ate our weight in whatever Tami cooked for us (which was whatever we wanted pretty much). It's a pretty good life at the Beckman house, except now my suit doesn't fit :). We did get out of the house a little bit though. We went to the beach one day, watched the mariners beat the A's :) and celebrated Chelsea's birthday. As part of her birthday, Chelsea's parents took us out to dinner in Walnut Creek, then to the musical Wicked in San Francisco. IT WAS AMAZING! The singers were awesome, and to me sounded at least as good as the CD if not better. Pretty nice that I got to share in the birthday treatment when it wasn't even my birthday! haha. It was amazing and was the perfect ending to a fun week in Danville.
We also picked up a couch that Chelsea's parents (well, Tami) said we could take off their hangs (Thanks again), and a scooter that was in their shed. Packing those into the truck was not very fun, but we packed it all in and it got here without any problems. Our apartment in Rexburg is on the 3rd floor and hauling that couch up here was quite a feat. It would have been all worth it, except that when we tried to get it passed the turn in our entry.. it wouldn't fit. We were (are) so disappointed! We were looking soo forward to having that couch in our living room. For the time being, however, my cousin Kyle and his wife Alli are the temporary recipient of Mom and Dad's generosity and our hard work. They did trade us a love seat that we are now using and is serving us well.
The scooter on the other hand has not disappointed! We did have to charge the battery so that the electric start would work again, but other than that, it was the best thing thats ever happened to finding a parking spot! Too bad the scooter season is quickly coming to an end. The last time I took it to school, I had to scrape the frost off the seat first. Oh well, I just can't wait till spring so we can cruise around on it again! Thanks again Mom and Dad Beckman! I think we tripled the number of miles on that scooter in the 3 weeks we were riding it.

Tami's beautiful smile!

WICKED!! GAlinda :)

That baby looks like Goldberg from The Mighty Ducks, I was
dying!

It's ok A's fans. You'll beat the M's next time :)

Our new apartment.. Was a little smaller than we
were used to, but it's nice!

Thats the end! Hope you enjoyed it!
